Simon Pegg on Tom Cruise's epic Mission: Impossible plane stunt “Yep, that’s a typical day on set for Mission: Impossible,” says Pegg, “Tom hanging onto the side of a plane! It’s very important to Tom that people have that experience of knowing that it’s not a stuntman. It adds a degree of tension when you know that it’s the actor doing it, because it stays in your mind that it’s still the character onscreen. It’s important for the film that there’s a layer of extra tension whereby the audience is going, ‘Oh my god, he’s doing that. He’s on the side of that plane, he’s driving that car.’” And being there on the day, Pegg got to get a first-hand view of Cruise’s heroics. “When he actually did the take off, I wasn’t shooting my scene, so I actually got on the plane just to have a ride in an A400. They said, ‘Hey, you want to come and sit on the plane?’ So I did one circuit in the cockpit with the pilots, which was kind of fun, for my own enjoyment, and then I sat back in the cargo bay … meanwhile Mr. Cruise was on the side of the plane! That was a truly memorable day, I can tell you.” “The thing about Tom is that he relishes this stuff. He enjoys it. It’s not like these things are easy to do, because they’re not, but he relishes the challenge and the effort it takes because I think he likes to be stretched. I worry in a way – like if we do Mission: Impossible 6, he’s going to have to go into because he can’t get any higher.” SOURCE

How Rebecca Ferguson Got Her Body 'Mission Impossible'-Ready Q: Your workout for Mission Impossible sounds pretty insane. What were you doing before?A: A lot of chocolate and trying to drink a little bit of water now and then. Basically none! To be honest, I love walking. I walk. I walk and I swim, I climb trees with my son. I'm active. This [movie] sort of introduced the gym world and I love it. I like it now.I imagine what you ate changed too. What was your diet like while filming?Tom was kind enough to let me eat this specially-made food that we had on set, which was very well organized based upon the scenes that were coming up. So if we had very intense fighting sequences, it would be like good carbs. Everything is organic, everything is green, everything is local, which is phenomenal! So...a lot of chia pudding, a lot of coconut: coconut flakes, coconut butter, coconut oil.Tom seems like such a character. What are you favorite stories from filming with him?Tom just in general is not known to be as funny as he is. He is hilarious. When you have him and Simon Pegg on set, sometimes it'll be hard. You have to walk away to not pee on yourself! But [Tom] is to be known as such a wonderful, happy dude. And a heartthrob, especially in the '90s. Did you have any celebrity crushes, growing up?I had Tom Cruise—and yes, I told him. I was on the treadmill running in the gym and I had forgotten that when I was young, I must've seen Interview with the Vampire: Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise, good combo. And, I had a recurring dream about him, like a love dream. I was in love with him [and] I was 11, 12? He was probably my one crush. Were you nervous meeting him that first time?I think the nerves came after realizing I just met him because it was so fast. I met him basically 17 hours after I had descended from my camel Barbie [while shooting a scene in Morocco for another film]. And it was more of the efficiency of meeting him. It was like the car to the flight [to London], "I have to do this, who's taking care of my son? What am I doing?" And then boom, there he was! And we laughed and had fun and then I left the room going: What the — just happened?Full Article at SOURCE

Tom Cruise grabs your wife's hand. What do you do? Tom Cruise takes your wife's hand and kisses it. How do you respond? WBIR sports reporter Patrick Murray was a bit conflicted Monday night as the actor and talk show host Jimmy Fallon began lip syncing to Patrick's wife Kristen as they sat in front-row seats at The Tonight Show in New York. The lucky couple ended up on on the front row after Kristen had mentioned in the lobby to someone with the show how much she liked Cruise's "Top Gun." That matched well, as it turned out, with the show's plans for Cruise as a guest Monday night. As the final song in the mock contest, Cruise and Fallon ended up singing the Righteous Brothers' "You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling," which played a prominent role in "Top Gun." And they walked right over to Patrick and Kristen to do it. Gulp. Said Patrick as Cruise moved closer and Fallon began mussing Kristen's hair: "I wasn't really sure how to react. I was like, Whoa, this is really cool. But at the same time I was like, Hey, that's my wife." "I couldn't believe it happened, and I'm still really freaked out, but it was awesome," Kristen Murray said. Full Video at SOURCE
