Let's bite the 6th trophy at RG, Rafa ! Love the smurfy shoes.. ;D Babolat sent the new balls to Majorca for Rafa to test them before RG.. . Rafa approved them. He prefers high bouncing balls.. He was mobbed yesterday at the Armani shop in Paris .. Draw in a few hours.. Good luck ! [/img]

Anyone get to see the match with Isner? Talk about dodging a bullet.

Hi Architect,
I only saw the 1st set and part of the 2nd of that match with Isner. Rafa looked completely vunerable. That was some digging REALLY deep by Rafa. I certainly hope that was a wake-up call for Rafa!

Djokovic/Del Potro slugfest to resume on Lenglen in a few minutes. While I can see that it was high quality tennis? They were BOTH hitting the ball as HARD as they could. I mean really KILLING the ball. Too bad they don't have lights at RG.. It would have been interesting to see how the match played out. As it stands... this might as well be a new match.

Poor Murray had a nasty tumble an twisted his ankle. He STILL managed to win, but was limping off the court.

Hi Imelda.. I was expecting Rafa to have a troubled first week as he usually has at GSs.. He is now in Last 16.. Isner was difficult.. Who can return those vicious serves ?.. But Rafa played great in the 4th and 5th sets .Even Isner said in his press conf. that he hadnt seen such a game as Rafa played in the last 2 sets. Isner was stunned..
That 2nd round was funny with a Spaniard who did his best but lost in straight sets.
Then the Croatian no. 227, who had beaten Davydenko in 5 sets , was Rafa's third round. He despatched the poor guy who happened to be a huge Rafa fan..
Now he is in Last 16 and will play Ljubicic who thinks Rafa has lost all his confidence and he is not hiding it in the locker room..Whats worse is the things he admitted at his press conference. Read that ??
Nadal feels like he's been 'playing for 100 years'
Saturday, May 28, 2011Rafael Nadal says the tour's non-stop schedule is exhausting him and there are days when he sees playing tennis as a job, rather than a sport. The Spaniard added that all his playing years have taken a toll on him and that even with the shortening of the calendar this year, the season will still be too long.
"It's my ninth year on the tour, and its completely the same feeling every year," Nadal told reporters. "You don't have the chance to stop, never. I think for that situation we have a shorter career. So having a different model of ranking, of competition, I think we can have longer career, no? I [am] almost 25, but seems like I am playing for 100 years here on the tour. I didn't spend a weekend at home since the week of Davis Cup before Indian Wells. That's too much. Tennis is a very demanding sport mentally and physically. I won Roland Garros five times, but next Monday I am practicing on Queen's. So that's makes the career shorter for everybody.
"We have four Grand Slams, we have nine Masters 1000, and the year is 12 months. I know that they're gonna reduce two week but, seriously, is not enough. [We are not ] gonna have these changes for my generation, but hopefully for the next generations to have a better sports life. Because I think you need two months, two months and a half of rest at the end of the season. You have to practice. I never able to practice and to try to improve the things during the off-season, and that's something I think terrible....Sometimes it's like work. And, in my opinion, tennis is not work. It's passion."----both articles are from tennis.com

Fognini has pulled out of the tournament, thereby giving Djokovic a WALKOVER into the Semis!!!!! Pfffffffffffffffffffffft! That's ALL he needs is an EXTRA day of rest.

Booo!! That guy has all the luck.. I am sick of him.. I hope Fed wins today to a very tired Monfils and kills Djok in the semi.. Allez Fed !! ;D I am also tired of Rafa talking and talking to the press and revealing his inner self.. Really, he is talking too much.. I just want to go there and shake him and tell him "Shut up!!" .. Maybe he wants to lessen the pressure on him by saying that he is not playing well to win RG. I liked what Steve Tignor wrote in his recent article about Rafa . "Maybe this match will give Nadal a little more confidence, or if it doesn't, at least teach him not to tell the world about it." Good win over Ljubicic.. But how Rafa doesnt convert so many breakpoints is beyond me !! Tomorrow he will face that Söd in the qusrterfinal. I am feeling a bit scared.. How come Murray is playing with that sprained ankle ? Come on ?? Another cheering video for us, Rafa appearing at the Armani shop in Paris
