In a poll conducted by Mamboo, a social dating website, tennis fans selected Nadal and Sharapova as the tennis stars they would most want to date.
Even though they both lost their respective Wimbledon finals, Rafael Nadal and Maria Sharapova are still on top among single tennis fans.
In a poll conducted by Mamboo (www.mamboo.com), one of the fastest growing social dating websites in the world, tennis fans selected Nadal and Sharapova as the tennis stars they would most want to date.
“So basically as a consolation prize for coming in second at Wimbledon and to help them forget the finals, we can offer Nadal and Sharapova the opportunity to arrange as many dates as they could possibly want this summer before they prepare for the U.S. Open,” said Gloria Diez, international business development director for Mamboo.
Nadal was selected as the “most dateable” tennis star on the men’s side by 45 percent of the women responding to the Mamboo poll, followed by Roger Federer with 31 percent, and then Andy Murray (16%), Feliciano Lopez (6%) and Liam Broady (2%).
For the women, Sharapova was the winner in this case with 47 percent of the men saying they would want to go on a date with her. In second place with 26 percent of the vote was Maria Kirilenko, followed by Ana Ivanovic (16%), Julia Goerges (8%) and Caroline Wozniacki (3%).
The poll was conducted online with responses fielded from men and women who are members of Mamboo from the United Kingdom, the United States and Germany. Men and women were specifically asked only to list tennis players of the opposite sex. The poll did not take into account which tennis stars are currently single, married or in a committed relationship.
