Malin Akerman Will Bed Tom Cruise In 'Rock Of Ages'
EXCLUSIVE: The final piece of the casting puzzle is in place for Rock Of Ages, the Adam Shankman-directed adaptation of the Broadway musical for New Line Cinema. Malin Akerman is set to play the role of Constance, a journalist who intends to write an expose on decadent rocker Stacee Jaxx (Tom Cruise). After a seduction, and after they sing a duet on the Foreigner song I Want To Know What Love Is, they find out in a naughty bedroom romp.
This has been a hot role. Shankman at first courted Anne Hathaway, who couldn't do it because she landed the Catwoman role in The Dark Knight Rises. Then, he courted Amy Adams, but Shankman again lost out to a superhero when she landed Lois Lane in Man of Steel. Akerman joins Bryan Cranston, who plays the mayor of Los Angeles, his prudish wife that Catherine Zeta-Jones will play, Cruise, Alec Baldwin, Mary J. Blige, Russell Brand, Paul Giamatti, Diego Boneta and Julianne Hough. Not a bad cast for a Chris D'Arienzo musical that started as a small off-Broadway show before moving to Broadway and now the big screen. Akerman is currently shooting Medallion opposite Nic Cage and will next be seen starring with Paul Rudd and Jennifer Aniston in the Universal Pictures comedy Wanderlust, as well as Bang Bang Club. She's repped by WME and Sanders Armstrong Caserta.

Malin Akerman was so impressed by Cruise's singing that she thought he could have been an opera singer if he had wanted. (scroll back to page 1 to read the article)..
Well, Tom has sung an opera aria in Interview with the Vampire.
It is the scene where Lestat sings while he dances with Claudia's mother's corpse -- "Non piu andrai farfallone amoroso," a selection from Le Nozze di Figaro (The Marriage of Figaro) by Wolfgang Mozart.
Now you'll go , get the DVD and check . No? Heh heh !!

Tom Cruise "Brought His F--king Game" Filming Rock of Ages If Katie Holmes was blown away by hubby Tom Cruise's role as Stacee Jaxx in the upcoming Rock of Ages flick, wait till you hear what Cruise's costar Malin Akerman is telling us!
The 33-year-old beauty, who plays seductive Rolling Stone reporter Constance in the musical movie, is spilling all the scoop on working—and singing—with the superstar.
And from the sound of it, Cruise may want to quit acting for a career in rock 'n roll...
"It was unbelievable," Akerman told us at the Miu Miu Presents Lucrecia Martel's Muta party in Beverly Hills. "It's kind of surreal, to go in and do, like, a duet with Tom Cruise. We sing 'I Want to Know What Love Is' together, which is sick. So we had a really great scene, Tom and I. He was absolutely amazing to work with."
But how do Cruise's vocal chops hold up?
"You will be shocked," she said. "I kind of wasn't that surprised, because when Tom does something he does it 150 percent. So he really just brought his f--king game and he sounds like a rock star. I'm not kidding. He could be an opera singer if he wanted to. His voice is really powerful."
As for Cruise's superbuff bod, Akerman gushed, "It's unbelievable...Forty-nine-years-old and that's what he looks like. Like, come on, really?!" SOURCE

Mary J. Blige: 'I Believed Tom Cruise Was a Rock Star'
Published September 26, 2011 | FoxNews.com
Tom Cruise has spent the last few months on-set in Miami bringing to life womanizing rocker Stacee Jaxx in Adam Shankman’s big-screen adaptation of the Tony-nominated Broadway musical “Rock of Ages.”
And although the A-list actor is better known for being a “Top Gun” naval pilot, a “Mission: impossible” secret agent and jumping on Oprah Winfrey couches, his co-star Mary J. Blige assured us he is also every bit the believable rock star.
“Oh man, Tom is going to make you believe that he’s a total rock star. I believed it,” the Grammy-winning singer told FOX411’s Pop Tarts column at Variety’s Power of Women event in Beverly Hills on Friday. “I don’t know what he did to get into it, but when he showed up he’s body was moving like every rock n’ roll star I have ever seen and he had this weird speech and weird tone coming out of his voice, he was just so in-character. And from the very first table reading he showed up dressed as Stacee Jaxx.”
The Grammy-winning artist, who has teamed with everyone from Slash to Kid Rock to Alicia Keys in the past, even went so far as to say a Cruise collaboration wouldn’t be out of the question.
“Why not? Mary J and Stacee Jaxx,” she mused.
But apparently Cruise isn’t the only one who will wow us when the film comes out next year. Blige also said Julianne Hough, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Russell Brand and the rest of the big-name lineup will all leave good impressions.
“The movie is incredible, Adam Shankman will be one of the best directors I will ever work with… he is just real and he knows what he wants,” she added. “He’s not confused and indecisive, and it’s such a dream cast. I don’t know if I will ever work with a cast like that again – just beautiful and down-to-earth.”

Julianne Hough Talks Tom Cruise and Rock of Ages"Somebody cares about me and it is Tom Cruise."[/URL] Tom Cruise Nursed Hough Back to Health Onset 16 October 2011 Tom Cruise helped to nurse his Rock of Ages co-star Julianne Hough back to health after she injured herself during a dance scene. The pair was filming an energetic routine when dancer-turned-actress Hough lost her footing and ended up in a heap on the floor, and she admits she had to pinch herself when she found Cruise helping her back to her feet. She tells People magazine, "He took care of me on set. He was making sure I was OK, and I was like, 'Somebody cares about me, and it's Tom Cruise!'" Maleextra.com
