Hi Imelda.. I am not worried about Rafa's scoreline.. He was playing well under the conditions.. Couldnt convert 2 BPs. But the courts were/still are slippery and the players did not want to play under the circumstances.. Rafa, Andy M. and Andy R. went to the Usta and revolted. Read here : www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,12110_7159124,00.htm I cant believe that they dont even have covers !! I expect they will ask the players next to brush the courts and sweep the water off .. What a disgrace.. As usual the situation is favouring Djo and Fed.. DARN !! They are resting while the other half are trying to play the last 16 ..

Can you believe that They made the girls stay for the night session, they started the warm up, and then , they stopped everything and cancelled all the matches .. Here is a good comment at Eurosport:The USTA are an absolute disgrace to the game! Their failure to construct a roof for Arthur Ashe Stadium is somewhat understandable, given the huge technical problems such would pose: however, this should not have prevented them from building one for Louis Armstrong. What is more WHY do they insist on not having covers? If all the courts had, many matches could have been played, and probably completed in the numerous hours while their grounds people were trying desperately to dry the courts. Their scheduling was always likely to cost them badly in the end, because it simply does not allow for rained out days. Now we have a situation whereby the defending champion may potentially have to play 4 - 5 set matches in 4 days if he is to defend his crown, and the same scenario for all those in the bottom half of the draw! How is this fair??? Djokovic in particular finished his 4th round match on Monday, and will only have to play 2 matches between now and Sunday, if he is to make another Final. Pretty much the same applies to Federer.
Unless The USTA extends this Championship into next week, then I can't see how anyone other than Nole or Roger can have a chance to win?

Quote: "Unfortunately, not all light rain and mist shows up on radar," The U.S. Tennis Association said in a statement. Radar? What? Nobody went out to the courts to check? Weather forecast is not good today.. Rain all day in NY.. if the players are fit enough they can play 3 matches/day ,no?

Congratulations to both players for their epic Final at USO 2011. But we'd like to move on. So here is something that will entertain those who are feeling "a litle sad" today ! Network TV as a fangirl shirt changes : 24 Sets lost: Zero (until yesterday)

Thank you for THAT Serin. I can barely bring myself to visit my tennis "haunts". I mean, I KNOW that Bigmouthovic played great tennis, deserved to win, and all that. I Just can't STAND HIM. Maybe I will mellow toward him in the future. But right now? Nuh-uh. I felt the same way about Thomas Muster. I hope that team Nadal will go home and figure this out. Just like they figured out Federer and Soderling. (Who, btw, now has Mono! poor thing. I hope he recovers soon.)

Oh AND, why the USTA made them go out and play in the rain? $$$$$$$!!! IF a ball is struck? They don't have to refund the customers who bought those tickets. It says it right in the rules. I bet THAT'S what Rafa meant when he said, it's all about the money.

Well, I think my faves are off to a good start! Rafa looked REALLY comfortable, Venus rolled back the years, (YAY for her!!) Serena seemed alright. Hopefully they can keep it going. :-)

Poor Venus... She just could not keep things going. She's still in the womens doubles though. They won last night. :-) And Rafa continues to roll, as do Murray, Djokovic and Roger. I think that Ana Ivanovic has gotten VERY skinny? Not as bad as Hantu, but still. Worrying. Serena did ok... but she looks tired. imho.
