Good morning Imelda.. Dont forget that we have a charity match on 14 July at Real Madrid's stadium , Madrid. " ALMA NADAL Charity Exhibition" will take place at Bernabeau stadium on 14 July in Madrid .. Rafa will play against Novak.. Hope Rafa and Novak have a great time and play a great match in Madrid.. Hope we have a TV coverage.. ----------------------------------------------------- As for Wimbledon, I dont care who wins, who loses .. But I definitely dont want Fed win or even go through to the quarters. You know what he said about the Rafa-Rosol match He laughed 10 minutes after the 5th set.. He said it was a joke. Well he should remember his losses to Rafa - we'll see whether he can laugh.. ;D

Rafael Nadal Withdraws From London Games Nadal, who had been named to carry the flag for Spain at next Friday’s Opening Ceremony, announced his withdrawal from the Spanish team after a morning practice session in which he concluded, according to his uncle and coach Toni Nadal, that his recurring knee problems would not allow him to compete effectively.
“Today is one of the saddest days of my career,” Rafael Nadal said in a statement.
Nadal’s withdrawal allowed the Spanish Tennis Federation the time to name another Spanish player to fill his spot in singles and doubles. Feliciano Lopez will play in the singles; Nadal’s friend and occasional partner Marc Lopez will play in the doubles.
“I have to think about my companions,” Nadal said in his statement. “I can’t be selfish, and I have to think of what’s best for Spanish sport, especially tennis, and give up my spot to someone who has had better preparation than mine and is ready to compete.” SOURCE

Pau Gasol (NBA Basketball player) will carry the flag for Spain at the opening of Olympics 2012. He will be thinking of Rafa, his good friend: Gasol: "Aunque no esté presente, Rafa estará conmigo llevando esa bandera" ["Although he won't be present, Rafa will be with me carrying that flag"]

Well, what is there to say? We KNOW it's MUCH worse for Rafa than for us, but STILL.... It's a bitter pill to swallow. (At least I won't have to be screaming at my TV set during the ineviatble LOUSY coverage that tennis will get?) (((( Cyber-HUG ))))

I don't know about everyone else, but we haven't seen hardly ANY tennis. A few points here or there.. a set of Federer, a few sets of Murray and NONE of the women. I have to read about it. I wonder if they will show the finals anywhere?

I'M back home and the first thing I did was check the result of men's tennis final.. Congratulation Andy M. for the great win against Federer.. I was really expecting him to win the gold medal and I wanted Federer to go home without the gold which he was dying to win..I am happy for Andy but I still feel sad that Rafa was not there to defend his title. I had the chance to watch Serena - Sharapova match yesterday and congratulations to Serena for a wonderful match.. Sharapova could get only one game. What a player Serena is.. 6-0, 6-1.. Congratulations also for her doubles win with Venus.. So Djok s gone home without a medal.. No career golden slam for him or for Fed.. yessssss... Rafa has the Career Golden Slam.. Rafa get well please.. You are terribly missed. Tennis needs you.. Faster than a bullet

Welcome Back Serin! :-)
It has been a GREAT tennis Olympic games IF you are a Serena fan? ;D
She absolutely DEMOLISHED Sharapova... I LOVED every minute of it. (Although, one HAS to wonder how the silver medal should go to one who plays so poorly?) Plus the Doubles gold with Venus!! Wonderful stuff.
AND ANDY MURRAY!!!! WHO would have thought he could hand Federer a breadstick? LOLOLOL WTG ANDY, Congrats.
Serin, That Roger did NOT get the golden slam, and Djokovic went home empty handed? = like THAT a LOT.
I was also happy for Max getting the gold in the mixed dubs. Nice for him.
(it would have been even better if Rafa had won gold though..*sigh*)
