Michael Raymond-James Cast in Tom Cruise's 'One Shot' Raymond-James, who played murderer René Lenier on the first season of HBO's True Blood, has been cast in the role of Linsky, described as a lifelong criminal who is hired by villain The Zec (played by Werner Herzog) for a sensitive assignment.
Christopher McQuarrie will direct from a script he wrote.
One Shot, which features a cast that also includes Rosamund Pike, David Oyelowo and Richard Jenkins, is set to begin filming in Pittsburgh this month. SOURCE

Jeannette native comes home to go big in film Tammy Felice left Pittsburgh for Los Angeles in 2005 to follow her dream of becoming an actress.
To her great surprise, for her biggest role yet, she had to come back home. Her scenes for "One Shot" -- starring Tom Cruise, Robert Duvall and Werner Herzog -- were shot Friday.
"To come home and film something at this level -- a Paramount feature film -- is really an incredible experience," Felice says.
Her role in "One Shot" isn't large, but her character should be familiar to those who have read the Lee Childs' novel.
"I don't know how much I can talk about this -- but she's a very significant player in the book," said Felice. "She's a CNN reporter, reporting coverage of a shooting."
Meeting the other cast members and crew on "One Shot" has been extremely pleasant, so far, she says.
"I had a fitting on Tuesday," Felice said. "Everybody was just really hospitable, very welcoming, very kind, definitely not the egotistical kind of attitudes you might think would come with a Paramount film. It was exactly like dealing with the locals from Pittsburgh."
She met Tom Cruise. "He walked right up and shook her hand," says her mother, Sandy Felice of Jeannette. "She met Robert Duvall. That doesn't happen every day."
Most recently, Felice starred in an online commercial for Butterfinger candy bars, with Rob Lowe. So far, it has gotten more than 450,000 hits.
"It's really funny -- I've been able to work with two of the sexiest men alive on People magazine covers," she said. "And they're both really, really nice guys and easy to work with."

Cruise Talks Casting There are casting calls so controversial that they look likely to reduce the internet to a smoking wasteland of charred avatars and ashen memes. Michael Keaton as Batman, Daniel Craig as Bond, The Last Airbender... that kind of thing. It's fair to say that the choice of Tom Cruise to play Lee Child's towering do-gooder Jack Reacher in One Shot has smoke pouring out of the web again.
With the movie currently filming in Pittsburgh, Empire tracked the man down to ask about the farrago. "Firstly, I'm very sensitive to it," Cruise explained, revealing that Child came to watch his readings. "This is Lee's book and Lee's character. Him giving me his blessing is what made me do it. If he hadn't then I wouldn't have done it."
And what of the discrepancy in height, Cruise giving away more than a few inches to the clock-brained legend? "Lee told me that the reason he wrote him that size (6' 5") is because that was just one element to his character, and that opened the door to me playing him."
"Reacher is such a great character," he enthused. "He doesn't have a cell phone, he doesn't have email. He's off the grid. He pays for things in cash. People look at things through the prism of the colours of their life, but Jack Reacher does things the way we want to sometimes. In that sense he's sort of a Dirty Harry, a James Bond, a Josey Wales."
Pick up a copy of Empire's December issue from Thursday for more from Cruise on One Shot and its mythical, head-punching protagonist. SOURCE

Assuming he could drop the accent, Courtney might have made a good Jack Reacher. I thought the same thing when I saw his picture. I've heard great things about the book, so I hope it doesn't deviate too much in its screen version.
