Daniel Radcliffe unaware of Pottermore, no interest in reprising Harry Potter role
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Daniel Radcliffe spoke to the LA Times recently on whether or not he would ever want to reprise the role of Harry Potter if J.K. Rowling were to write a new book, and revealed that he has no clue whatsoever as to what Pottermore may be.
On Pottermore and his refusal to be Harry if the character is involved.
Quote: “I know nothing about that whatsoever,” Radcliffe said. “I’m sure that Jo will be writing a lot more in the coming years. I’m sure she has a lot more in her than we’ve read and a lot more stories to tell.”
And he added, with a bit of a chuckle: “As long as they don’t involve Harry, I’m quite happy to buy them.” On playing Harry years down the road if J.K. Rowling wrote another book.
Quote: “Not particularly. I think that would be a bit odd,” said the actor, who celebrates his 22nd birthday the week after the eighth film opens. “I’d be very skeptical about that. First of all, I don’t think that she will” write another Potter installment, “and second of all, oh, I don’t know, the idea of going back to something after 10 or 20 years? At that point, I will have worked 20 years to establish a career outside of it, and at that point to go back to it would feel a little self-defeating.”
“I could feel completely different at that time, but at this moment, it feels like it would be strange and not the way it would or should go.”
Dan also admitted that he will be on stage in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying until January 2012, after which he will pursue film roles.

I don't think it has anything to do with movies. I think even Rowling has to be sick of those by now.

Well, Rowling may be sick of it, but she still can't let it go, can she ? And the issue may be the BOOKS, not the films, I presume ! She is a writer, she has created a phenomen , and whatever she does after HP, wont come close to the success of HP.. So she is probably going to feed on HP , although she said that HP was over, done with..

Yes.. Just as we predicted :
© AP J.K. Rowling'Potter' series to be sold as e-books June 23, 2011, 7:56 AM EST
LONDON (AP) -- Harry Potter's wild wizard adventures are going digital.
Author J.K. Rowling announced Thursday that her seven Potter novels will be sold as e-books starting in October — ending the boy wizard's status as one of the highest-profile holdouts against digital publishing.
"You can't hold back progress," Rowling said. "E-books are here and they are here to stay."
The magical stories that conquered the world in print form will be available as audiobooks and e-books in multiple languages exclusively through a new interactive website, "Pottermore."
Rowling, one of the world's most powerful authors, is bypassing established online retailers like Amazon, although the creators of Pottermore say the books will be compatible with popular e-readers including Amazon's Kindle, Sony's Reader and Apple's iPad.
"It's very important to Jo to make the books available to everybody, not to make them available only to people who own a particular set of devices, or tethered to a particular set of platforms," said Tom Turcan, chief operating officer of the new venture, Pottermore Ltd.
He said prices for the e-books would be announced closer to October.
The site is a partnership with Sony Corp. and its online shop is described as "a potential outlet for Sony products." Rowling spokesman Mark Hutchinson said Sony was selected as "the most appropriate partner."
Rowling also has written 18,000 words of new Potter material for the site, which promises to immerse users in her world of wizards, combining elements of computer games, social networking and an online store.

Potter Takes EW's 'Best YA Ever' Title
Some awesome but unsurprising news coming out of Entertainment Weekly that will no doubt have Potterheads thrilled and also nodding their heads.
EW readers cast their votes for the greatest YA Novel of All Time, and good ol' HP took home the crown. That's right, Entertainment Weekly readers decided that J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter series was the greatest of all time, in the category of young adult lit, anyway.
For us Potterheads, it's a no-brainer. What other YA book has done so much to shape a generation of people? None. We all know the amazing and profound impact that Harry's had on our lives, and it's obviously reflected in the way readers voted in the poll.
Not to say that it didn't have stiff competiton. Oh no, dear reader, the stakes were high. Potter squared off against such YA heavyweight's as John Green's The Fault In Our Stars, Stephen Chbosky’s The Perks of Being a Wallflower, Veronica Roth's Divergent trilogy, The Maze Runner, and more.
In the end, it came down to our much-beloved TFioS versus The Boy Who Lived.
But then something interesting happened. John Green, being the marvellous and thoughtful man that he is, conceded the vote to Potter on his tumblr. He said, “HP is the most important story for a generation of readers and is one of the central reasons that my career even exists, so it’s a bit silly even to be in the ring with it here at the end.”
And what a point he makes. John's work has reached a remarkable number of people, young and old alike, and delighted them with his wit, insight, and characters. But even someone as talented as John Green knows that he stands as only a drop in the pond next to the collected impact of Mr. Potter. I think EW did an excellent job of summarizing it themselves:
With that, Green just about sums things up. The Fault in Our Stars is a great book. But to millions and millions of people — old, young, anywhere in between — Harry Potter is more than that: It’s a cultural beacon, a secular religion, a way of life. And a full six years after the final book in the series was published (and two years after the final film adaptation’s release), the saga’s impact has hardly diminished. There’s simply nothing else like Harry, and there may never be anything like him again — despite the best efforts of publishing houses and movie studios alike.
So here's to Harry, still topping lists, still ingrained in popular culture, long after his wizard robes were hung up.

Meet J. K. Rowling's New Harry Potter CharacterCharlotte Alter @charlottealter Aug. 18, 2014 Celestina Warbeck, the "Singing Sorceress," is a favorite of Molly Weasley J.K. Rowling unveiled a new character in the Harry Potter universe Monday, and she’s a stylish songstress who just happens to be Ron Weasley’s mom’s favorite singer. Celestina Warbeck has never been seen in the flesh in any of the seven Harry Potter books, but Rowling wrote a new story about her excerpted on Today.com and released in full on Pottermore.com. Here’s a hint about Warbeck’s humble half-Muggle origins and her blockbuster music career: Internationally-acclaimed singing sensation Celestina Warbeck (sometimes known as ‘the Singing Sorceress’) hails from Wales. Her father, a minor functionary in the Muggle Liaison Office, met her Muggle mother (a failed actress) when the latter was attacked by a Lethifold disguised as a stage curtain… Some of Celestina’s best-known songs include You Charmed the Heart Right Out of Me and A Cauldron Full of Hot, Strong Love. Her fans are usually older people who love her grandstanding style and powerful voice. The late 20th-century album You Stole My Cauldron but You Can’t Have My Heart was a massive global hit. You can listen to a full track of Celestina Warbeck’s hit single You Stole My Cauldron but You Can’t Have My Heart on Pottermore.com, but you need a membership and you have to “unlock” it first by playing in the Pottermore universe.
