VALKYRIE
John Ottman score - They will remember you
In a country in the grips of evil, in a police state where every move is being watched, in a world where justice and honor have been subverted, a group of men hidden inside the highest reaches of power decide to take action. Tom Cruise stars in the suspense film, Valkyrie, based on the true story of Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg and the daring and ingenious plot to eliminate one of the most evil criminals the world has ever known.
A proud military man, Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg is a loyal officer who serves his country all the while hoping that someone will find a way to stop Hitler before Europe and Germany are destroyed. Realizing that time is running out, he decides that he must take action himself and joins the German resistance. Armed with a cunning strategy to use Hitler's own emergency plan - known as Operation Valkyrie - these men plot to assassinate the dictator and overthrow his Nazi government from the inside.
With everything in place, with the future of the world, the fate of millions and the lives of his wife and children hanging in the balance, von Stauffenberg is thrust from being one of many who oppose Hitler to the one who must kill Hitler himself.
Stars Tom Cruise, Kenneth Branagh, Bill Nighy and Tom Wilkinson. Directed by Bryan Singer

Germany’s first war museum since fall of Berlin Wall stirs mixed emotions
[/img] Globe and Mail Update Published Friday, Sep. 23, 2011 9:19PM EDT Germany is about to open its first war museum since unification. But in a country leery of war – yet steeped in brutality – this project, its architect, Daniel Libeskind, and its forceful design are all stirring strong emotions. The Museum of Military History will open in October in Dresden, the city whose firebombing in 1945 continues to provoke feelings of victimhood and outrage among Germans. The new institution will show two narratives: one chronological, covering German wars, and the other thematic, including subjects such as “fashion and the military” and “war and remembrance” (with a set from the Tom Cruise movie Valkyrie).

Hitler's Wolf's Lair For RentAdolf Hitler's former military stronghold Wolf's Lair is up for rent as the Polish owner try to cash in on the bunker's notorious past. The network of tunnels and bunkers in what used to be German occupied eastern Prussia is where the Nazi leader almost died in a bomb plot made famous by Tom Cruise's film Valkyrie. Now the current owners - Poland's National Forestry - says it is looking for a new tenant who will pump up to 100,000 GBP a year for 20 years into the site to update it for tourists. "We need to modernise the site," said forestry spokesman Zenon Piotrowicz. Austrian Times Photos : www.globotreks.com/destinations/wolfs-lair-hitlers-bunker-poland/
