Roland Garros Celebrates Rafa's Birthday Rafael Nadal owns the French Open to the tune of seven titles during the last eight years. Tournament officials acknowledged his dominance and his birthday on Monday by delivering this gigantic tennis-themed cake after he defeated Kei Nishikori to reach the quarterfinals.
It has become a yearly tradition for the French Open to celebrate Nadal's birthday with an over-the-top cake.
In honor of his birthday, here's a look back at Nadal from the seven years in which he has won the French Open:

Dear Imelda.. Thanks...Hope all is going well with you too.. I m OK, last night we walked to the "notorious" Park which is in one of Istanbul's main districts ; fortunately we were not sprayed by tear gas ... they want to raze the park and put in its place a replica of 19th Century Ottoman barracks -- containing a hotel . They want to renovate everything, not only this Park.. I ve seen people who were embracing the trees .. Symbolic sad scenes.. Our boy is doing fine even though he is under enormous pressure.. He will play his quarter final tomorrow vs Wawrinka.. The Birhtday celebration was great.. All the people in the court sang "Happy Birtday" to him..Unusual for the French crowds.. Yup..I found the video of the post-match and the birthday celebration ------------------------------------------------------------------- Hi Archie, Thanks for the beautiful pictures..The B celebration was lovely.. If he wins RG , it will be his 8th and he will be the first player to have won a major 8 times - he will make history..
