It's back! Warner Bros. waves its wand over 'Carter Beats the Devil' Warner Bros. is pulling out of its sleeve "Carter Beats the Devil," an adaptation of Glen David Gold's 2002 novel about a magician who either is getting played or creating the grandest illusion of his career.
Attempts to make "Carter" into a movie have been around for a while — Tom Cruise tried developing it shortly after the book was published — with all of them vanishing in development. But the movie is now back on the frontburner at studio Warner Bros., according to two people who were briefed on the studio's plans but were not authorized to talk about them publicly.
A new version of the script has been completed and turned in to the studio, the people said, and Warner Bros. has put Johnny Depp atop the list of actors it wants to play Carter. (From Willy Wonka to Jack Sparrow, Depp has a history of playing eccentric showmen.) Warner Bros is also seeking directors and has put the word out to the major Hollywood agencies that it's looking to fill the position, said agents at three of the largest Hollywood agencies. A Warner Bros. spokeswoman did not immediately have a comment. SOURCE

Goodness.. Nobody has told me that HE IS BACK !!! Joaquin Phoenix and Marion Cotillard Sign On To New Film ‘Low Life’ The great 36-year-old actor Joaquin Phoenix - who was absolutely brilliant playing the lead role of Johnny Cash in ‘Walk The Line’ - and the French beauty Marion Cotillard will star in the movie by James Gray, about a Polish woman who is forced into prostitution when she emigrates to the US. Jeremy Renner is also in negotiations to take on the role of Joaquin’s character’s cousin, who gives the woman a chance to escape from her troubled life and away from the man who has forced her into turning tricks. The shooting schedule will begin next year owing to the tight schedules of all of the participants. Joaquin is currently working on an untitled movie by Paul Thomas Anderson, while Oscar-winning actress Marion is filming Batman movie ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ in the role of Miranda Tate. She will next be seen in action thriller ‘Contagion’, about the threat posed by a deadly disease, starring Kate Winslet, Gwyneth Paltrow and Matt Damon. Celebdirtylaundry IN WALK THE LINE

There is THE MASTER.."Paul Thomas Anderson's screenplay of The Master, the so-called "Scientology movie" that's been filming since June. The Weinstein Co. will release it during 2012 Oscar season. It costars Philip Seymour Hoffman, Joaquin Phoenix, Amy Adams and Laura Dern".-- H.E. ************************************************ I guess the untitled movie is : Back in March, we reported that Megan Ellison’s Annapurna Pictures would back an untitled project from director Spike Jonze and screenwriter Charlie Kaufman (the duo behind Being John Malkovich and Adaptation.). The film would reportedly be a satire “about how world leaders gather to figure out all the seismic events that will take place in the worlds, from oil prices to wars that will be waged.” Twitch now reports that Warner Bros. has picked up the film, which means they will most likely distribute it as well. The project is reportedly eyeing a March 2012 start date. Twitch also reports that Joaquin Phoenix is attached to star, which is a smart career move on his part. Phoenix needs to reestablish his credibility with audiences after the I’m Still Here debacle and working with directors like Jonze and Paul Thomas Anderson is a good way to do that. / Collider (Btw, arent you tired of seeing Jeremy Renner everywhere (and in Low Life) .. Here now, gone tomorrow... ) [/img] [/img]

ROTFL !!'Hangover' star Cooper to star in 'Paradise Lost' SYDNEY (AP) -- "The Hangover" star Bradley Cooper will appear as Lucifer in a movie version of the classic poem "Paradise Lost," to be filmed in Sydney. The government of New South Wales, where Sydney is located, announced Wednesday that the movie will be directed by Australian Alex Proyas, who also directed "I, Robot" starring Will Smith and "Knowing" with Nicolas Cage. [/img] "Paradise Lost," an epic poem in blank verse by the 17th-century English poet John Milton, will be shot predominantly at Sydney's Fox Studios, and is targeted for release in 2013, said New South Wales Acting Premier Andrew Stoner. He said the production was lured to Sydney with financial incentives from the state government, beating competition from rival locations in the United States and Canada. "Had we not done this it would have been opportunity lost, not 'Paradise Lost,'" he said. "Paradise Lost" tells the story of Satan tempting Adam and Eve, and their expulsion from the Garden of Eden. The character of Satan is the focus of the plot. Copyright 2011 Associated Press.

From mail
The European Commission has just announced an agreement whereby English will be the official language of the European Union rather than German, which was the other possibility.
As part of the negotiations, the British Government conceded that English spelling had some room for improvement and has accepted a 5- year phase-in plan that would become known as "Euro-English".
In the first year, "S" will replace the soft "c".. Sertainly, this will make the sivil servants jump with joy. The hard "c" will be dropped in favour of "k". This should klear up konfusion, and keyboards kan have one less letter.
There will be growing publik enthusiasm in the sekond year when the troublesome "ph" will be replaced with "f".. This will make words like fotograf 20% shorter.
In the 3rd year, publik akseptanse of the new spelling kan be expekted to reach the stage where more komplikated changes are possible.
Governments will enkourage the removal of double letters which have always ben a deterent to akurate speling.
Also, al wil agre that the horibl mes of the silent "e" in the languag is disgrasful and it should go away.
By the 4th yer people wil be reseptiv to steps such as replasing "th" with "z" and "w" with "v".
During ze fifz yer, ze unesesary "O" kan be dropd from vords kontaining "ou" and after ziz fifz yer, ve vil hav a reil sensi bl riten styl.
Zer vil be no mor trubl or difikultis and evrivun vil find it ezi TU understand ech oza. Ze drem of a united urop vil finali kum tru.
Und efter ze fifz yer, ve vil al be speking German like zey vunted in ze forst plas.

We saw YOUNG GOETHE IN LOVE , a German film , which we highly enjoyed.. It was like a breath of fresh air with German actors speaking German, the authentic German locations, and the sweet little story about the great Poet's youth.. "Young Goethe delivers a satisfying story worthy of other great romantic romps, and Alexander Fehling (Inglourious Basterds) puts on a magnetic and charming performance as Goethe." Variety How could we not love this film when "Captain America", "Green Lantern", Cowboys and Aliens" and the likes were playing next door..LOL!! [/img] *

More than 41.000 women attended a football match played by men in Istanbul -- the team is of course my FENERBAHCE !!
OMG ! They never stopped cheering and chanting :
Fenerbahce only allowed to admit women and children /BBC

No boys allowed: Only women and children are allowed to watch two matches The Turkish football association has come up with a radical solution for tackling hooliganism - by banning men from stadiums.
Teams sanctioned for unruly behaviour by fans are instead only allowed to admit women and children aged under 12 to watch games.
On Tuesday, more than 41,000 women and children attended Fenerbahce's match against Manisaspor in Istanbul.
The move followed violence during a Fenerbahce "friendly" in July.
The Istanbul side was initially told to play two home matches behind closed doors after fans invaded the pitch during a game with the Ukrainian champions Shakhtar Donetsk.
But the Turkish authorities later softened their stance and decided to let women and children attend.
Fenerbahce's 1-1 draw with Manisapor kicked off after players from both teams hurled flowers at the fans, while the visitors were greeted with applause instead of the more customary loud jeers.
The home side's captain, Alex de Sousa, said: "This memory will stay with me forever. It's not always that you see so many women and children in one game."
"We have to thank the ladies for coming to support us," his team-mate Joseph Yobo - on loan from Everton - told Lig TV. "It's difficult playing without the fans."
Manisaspor midfielder Omer Aysan agreed: "It was such a fun and pleasant atmosphere."
Before the game, fans were searched by all-women police officers.
Speaking before the match, Yasemin Mercil, a female member of Fenerbahce's executive board, said: "This really is a historic day.
"For the first time in the world, only women and children will watch a game. The women know all the chants. The same anthems, the same chants will be sung."
