I had missed Joaquin Phoenix and I hadnt seen his TWO LOVERS (2009), co-starring Gwyneth Paltrow.. Finally I caught it on TV and I simply adored his performance, so intense, so startlingly emotional, so wonderful.. He changes the way he speaks in every movie he makes.. He is the best actor of his generation in Hollywood and do they know it ? [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img]

I know and I can't believe it !!! Jor-El ? Please !! Isnt Russell one year younger than Tom ? Incredible how harsh years have been to him , what with the bar brawls, beer.. I felt so sad when I saw his Robin Hood.. I know that he doesnt have a picture in the attic, but still where was my Buddy White !?

I saw Woody Allen's MIDNIGHT IN PARIS and enjoyed it very much.. I was pleased that the film had all those surrealist humour which was Allen's trade mark in his earlier movies such as Purple Rose of Cairo, Zelig.. I hadnt seen any of Owen Wison films .. He was cute, but his strong , thick accent was so exaggerated that it sounded fake and made us feel irritated whenever he started to speak..lol.. .. I wondered whether it was Woody who asked him to speak with that accent or was it his normal way of speaking.. It had a good cast with Carla Bruni as the guide. and Marion Cottillard as Adriana., not to mention the other characters.. Trailer *

Argh.. Wide message boxes ruin the "10 most recent posts" facility..
When we post pics and articles, I think we should keep them in narrower message boxes.. I had to work hard to arrange it but to no avail..*wipes face*
I guess I'LL try something else..

Had no time for forums and pics until today.. In the meantime I have seen A Dangerous Method directed by Cronenberg , starring Michale Fassbinder as Jung , Viggo Mortensen as Sigmund Freud and Keira Knightly .. There is also Vincent Cassel as another psychiatrist.. Acting is truly awesome.. I didnt know it was it was Viggo Mortensen who played Freud !! Intense discussions on psychiatry makes one a bit dizzy , but this is a good film.. Anyway, different from all those blockbusters, thank Heavens !

I saw Sherlock Holmes 2 and did not enjoy it.. The first film was quite good.. But in this Game of Shadows, it gets pretty boring, Sherlock and Watson keep drooling at each other ;D or doing karate shows !! I love Robert Downey but he does not look good in this sequel. They shouldnt have had the same director.(Tom is so smart , look at his directors of the franchise MI !) --------------------------- Aw Mr Bilbo Baggins

Melancholia etc."Cheers and earnest respect for the National Society of Film Critics for handing Best Picture to Lars von Trier's Melancholia, Best Director to Tree of Life's Terrence Malick, Best Actress to Melancholia's Kirsten Dunst, Best Actor to Moneyball's Brad Pitt, Best Supporting Actor to Drive's Albert Brooks, Best Supporting Actress to Jessica Chastain for all of her 2011 roles, and their Best Supporting Actress runner-up distinction to Margaret's Jeannie Berlin. HE" Oh please.. Only the beginning and the ending of Melancholia makes an impression - quite mesmerising.. The rest is -- I dont know what to say...Kirsten Dunst best actress She looks and acts (!) like a zombie.. No expression, no passion, nothing - she is a statue..Edit : But then the disaster looming above may make every one turn into a statue.. Music from Wagner's Tristan und Isolde helps a lot.. I dont like Lars van Trier but I guess we can call this his most interesting film.. *
